Houston Area Urban League

The Houston Area Urban League (HAUL) and the Prince Complex has partnered to offer many important programs to the residents of the Fifth Ward Area. Utilizing the Community Technology Center (CTC), the Houston Urban League offers a comprehensive approach to workforce training and job placement for economically disadvantaged clients. The CTC provides the environment, resources and skill training needed to assist in clients in preparing for full-time employment by providing full-day, hands-on computer literacy training.
In addition, the Workforce Development Department also provides opportunities for on-site recruitment, corporate training, and participation in specialized job fairs. Those individuals who are seeking employment will have access to a job bank of local, state, and national employment opportunities from about 100 corporate employment partners. Employment candidates are provided with services in career counseling, skill assessment, skill training, resume preparation, job readiness workshops, job referrals, and job placement assistance.
Financial Literacy Programs
In collaboration with the Houston Area Urban League, Prince Complex offers financial counseling on several matters critical to families.
Housing and Social Services
Through programs managed by the Houston Area Urban League Housing Department, HAUL offers advisement on the following topics/areas:
- Credit Enhancement
- Home Buying
- Housing Counseling
- Pre and Post Home Purchase Counseling
- Reverse Mortgage Counseling
- Mortgage Default Counseling
- Social Services Program
